"You have shown us
Mexicans how to display our treasures." (Summer 2008, a
visitor from Mexico City).
"Incredible Stay!" (Trip Advisor
June 30, 2008 -- from Oklahoma)
My wife and I are studying Spanish abroad
in Guadalajara and our host family suggested we go see the charming
village of Ajijic, about 45 minutes south of Guadalajara by second
class bus. After doing some research online, we found Estrellita's
(formerly known as the Swan Inn), read the great reviews, and
decided to give it a try. We had an absolutely wonderful time and
would definitely, definitely stay at Estrellita's again if we ever
find ourselves back in Ajijic!
Lorraine is the new owner of the bed and breakfast and she has done
an exceptional job of totally renovating the property. The rooms are
bright and brilliant, with beautiful contrasting colors that keep
reminding you that you are in the heart of Mexico and in a small
village. If you can, try and book the queen or double rooms on the
second floor (we had the yellow queen bed room). These rooms offer
direct access to a private outdoor rooftop patio and garden that
offers stunning views of the mountains and lush vegetation along
with chairs and umbrellas for relaxing. Everything was extremely
clean, bathroom and shower was terrific, and the bed was one of the
most comfortable I've slept on in a while. The B&B is filled with
pieces of Mexican art, as Lorraine has done an outstanding job of
offering all modern amenities in the context of relaxing Mexican
charm. Arts and crafts lovers will love the fun finds on the
property and in the adjacent shops. Terrific dining is just steps
and blocks away, and the Ajijic Pier is a few minutes walk south.
The location is perfect and most things you'd want to do and see in
Ajijic are just moments away. Breakfast was served promptly at
8:00AM and consisted of a delicious and healthy continental spread
served on beautiful locally made Mexican place settings.
I will definitely be recommending Estrellita's Bed and Breakfast to
family and friends, and we will plan on staying here again if we
ever make it back to the charming town of Ajijic!
"The Charm of Ajijic" (Trip Advisor

"My friend and I stayed for a week in the
most beautiful B&B ever. The price was right also. I was so charmed
by the art, in all of the rooms. I could hardly settle down and
relax. I did not know that Mexico has some of the best artist
around, until Estrellita's. Our hostess Lorraine was just wonderful.
Her breakfast is delicious, the fruit served is perfect in our
smoothies, which started our day. We also had the internet when ever
we needed, staying connected to our families was important. I can't
wait to go back to see the art that Lorraine has collected
throughout Mexico."
Thank you Lorraine,
Sandi and Ann
"Transformative! I loved
it!" (Trip Advisor April 25, 2008 -- from Texas)
Estrellita's was recommended by our
realtors as the best located B&B for first timers that want to see
what Ajijic is all about. And we will be back. Yes, we could
comfortably walk to the lake, places to eat, and we were next door
to the information Central, Lake Chapala Society.
The owner was most helpful and a wealth of information about so many
topics. We felt completely safe. The breakfast had a great
presentation and healthy, and with so many choices. The rooms were
newly remodeled, comfortable and romantic. We could tell Lorraine
had taken great measures to make this B&B comfortable and with a
feel of elegance while still feeling like a "at home" place. Highly
recommend this B&B. We will be back this summer. From Texas
"Charming B&B in Ajijic" (Trip Advisor

The Estrellita's with it's bright colors
and location makes it a great b&b. Lorraine, the new owner, is such
a delightful person. She and Antonia makes their guests feel at
home. The breakfast is always great and the large table is like
enjoying breakfast with a large family. She has just redone the
outside garden area. I would recommend Estrellita's to anyone.

Estrellita's was a wonderful stay. Clean,
comfortable and cozy with beautiful Mexican folk art and other
pieces of art pleasing to the eye. The breakfast at the big table
was yummy and eating with the other guests was great fun, no one
wanted to leave the table! I would recommend Estrellita's to anyone,
the place and the owner are preciosas!
